Հայ Յեղափոխական Դաշնակցութիւն - Աւստրալիա
Founded in 1890, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation
(Հայ Յեղափոխական Դաշնակցութիւն) program is based on social justice, democracy and national self-determination for the Armenian people.
The ARF led the effort toward the establishment of the first Armenian Republic in 1918 and was the party in power for the duration of its existence. Following the Sovietization of Armenia in 1920, the ARF was banned by the Communists and its leadership exiled.
In the Diaspora, the ARF fought Soviet rule over Armenia and championed the cause of Armenian rights and independence; it played a leading role in organizing a social and cultural framework aimed at preserving the Armenian identity.
The ARF-Dashnaktsutyun is internationally recognized as a major political
force both in Armenia, Karabakh and in the Armenian communities worldwide.
In Australia, the ARF was established in 1964 and is the country's largest Armenian political organisation in membership and supporters. The Armenian Youth Federation of Australia is the organization's youth collective, which was established in 1978. ARF Australia works closely with the Armenian National Committee of Australia, Homenetmen (Sporting and Scouting), the Armenian Relief Society (Humanitarian) and Hamazkaine (Cultural and Educational). Armenia Media (Armenia Online and Armenia Fortnightly) and Sardarabad Radio are affiliate media organisations of ARF Australia.
